What’s new in 2020 for Video CULTure!

The year 2020 is here and the Video CULTure podcast is still going strong! We are so thankful to all of you- our listeners and supporters. We are looking forward to keeping the doors open on the “virtual video store” here at the podcast for a long time to come for you all! With any new year though, there also comes new year’s resolutions. It’s no different here at the official home of Video CULTure.

Well, maybe it’s a little different. We aren’t promising to go to the gym more or to finally clean out the garage. I mean screw that! We got movies to watch, dammit! Seriously though, with the beginning of the new year comes a few promises from us to you. The main one is simply –more content. What does that mean you ask? Well-

1.) More articles and essays here at the site.

New written content! New writers!  We are going to see a return of the “Video Store Memories” and “Check The Back Shelf” series as well as these new features –

“Staff Picks” – A deeper look into movies that are loved by us here at Video CULTure. Each edition will focus on a single film that we think you should check out, either for the first time or for a long-overdue revisit.

“At The Movies” – We love watching movies at home but we also like heading out to the theater to catch a film on the big screen. So, occasionally we’ll be checking in with this feature to let you know which current films we think you should rush out and see… and which ones we think you should avoid.

2.) Guests on the podcast!

We have been wanting to have more guests on the Video CULTure podcast ever since our 10th episode which featured our announcer, Andy Morris. It brought a fun and different dynamic to everything that we really enjoyed. Unfortunately, logistics have kept us from having more guests since that time. We think we have it figured out now though and one of our big goals for 2020 is to have some different interesting voices on the show.
_________

Of course, the podcast will still be dropping every other Tuesday and we have some great show ideas lined up for all of you to enjoy. To keep track of that just check the “Upcoming” section of the website. We have our new show topics listed for all the way into late March. The new written content will start to appear this weekend as I will be posting…

Video CULTure’s Top 15 films of 2019

I watch a massive amount of new release films every year from a variety of genres and countries. When the year comes to a close, I start to work on a list of what I think are the films most worth your time from that year. It’s a lengthy list that takes up more and more time every year I do it and this time I am proud to give it a home here at the official Video CULTure website. It will be the inaugural entry in the “At The Movies” essay series and I cannot wait for you guys to see it!

Until then…

“Go watch some movies!”
